Moving and Handling Training
Linda Birnie is a moving and handling trainer, and covers theory and practice of safer techniques for people handling. This includes theory, chair based moves, and use of a profiling bed, and active and passive hoists.
Training can help people moving and handling inanimate loads, such as people working in a typical office, to plan moving and handing moves and to take care of their spine. Damage and injuries can be a consequence of posture and cumulative actions, as well as from not attending to risk assessment and planning of tasks.
Training can also be geared to people working in the care and support sector who support clients with day to day activities, and so require training in people handling moves.
